ABSTRACT
Electronic learning (or e-Learning or eLearning or computer based learning or digital learning) is a type of education where the medium of instruction is computer technology. No in-person interaction may take place in some instances. E-learning is used interchangeably in a wide variety of contexts. So, it is a type of learning that is facilitated by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology. E-learning occurs across all learning areas and domains. It encompasses the application of a wide spectrum of practices including: blended and virtual learning. Digital learning today is where smart phones were a decade ago. Adoption is taking hold, and the technology has proven its value along some dimensions. We are on the frontier. We can see new possibilities in front of us still more possibilities are beyond our imagination. A decade from now, capabilities we currently think of as emerging and others that we can barely imagine will be as ubiquitous as the smart phone is today.
