ABSTRACT

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS), a rich tapestry of intellectual, spiritual, and practical traditions spanning thousands of years, offers profound insights into science, philosophy, governance, and sustainable living. Rooted in texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, and epics such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana, IKS integrates holistic principles that address contemporary challenges in education, technology, sustainability, and societal well-being. This paper explores the historical evolution, key disciplines, and modern applications of IKS, emphasizing its role in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. By analyzing case studies in mathematics, medicine, and governance, this study argues that IKS provides a sustainable framework for addressing global issues, fostering interdisciplinary innovation, and revitalizing India’s cultural heritage.

Keywords: Indian Knowledge System, NEP 2020, Vedic Wisdom, Interdisciplinary Research, Sustainability etc.
