ABSTRACT
Women are an integral part of the society. Women play roles in many forms in society. To strengthen society, it is very important for women to be healthy, and this is possible only when women are conscious about their health and nutrition. It is not possible to imagine a healthy society without healthy women. If we talk from the perspective of rural women, their health and nutrition conditions are not advanced. The present study conducted on the topic “Health and Nutrition Awareness of Rural Women”. The qualitative method was used for the present study. For the study, 5 villages (Vaidh village, Dhanchada village, Digoli Village, Khola village, Dhingyasu village) were selected from Pauri district of Uttarakhand state. The sample size for the study was 50 women aged between 25 to 45 years under a random sampling method. A self-made open questionnaire was created by the researcher under the guidance of experts to collect data. The questionnaire contained 20 questions related to health and nutrition. Data were collected through the interview method. The mean method, content analysis and narrative analysis method were used to analyze the data. The study concluded that 40% of respondents had a high level of awareness of nutrition. A moderate level of awareness towards health and nutrition was found in 30% of the respondents, and a low level of awareness was found in 30% of the respondents.
